Rachel Roth was born and raised in the Venice of America, also known as Cape Coral, FL, where she started her love of writing all the way back in third grade when she won third place in the county-wide Aspiring Authors competition in 2004. Originally attending college for a Criminology degree on the path to study psychopathology, she ended up changing her major and focus in life just one year in and graduated from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg with a BA in English and a Certificate in Creative Writing.
Her debut novel finished its first draft in 2018 but took four years to reach publication, The Undead Redhead was published in June 2021 and her first story collection, Dead Flies was released just about a year later in March 2023. In addition to her fiction works, she has had a total of five poems published in various anthologies including the LGBTQA+ collection SMITTEN: This is What Love Looks Like.
In addition to writing, Rachel is a devoted cinephile with a feverish love for horror, taking it upon herself to learn as much about film as possible as she hopes to one day write for the silver screen.
